Denton Bach Treble Chorale proudly welcomes Christine Le as Guest Conductor for our October and December, 2024 concerts.

J. Christine Le is a graduate student at the University of North Texas, where she is pursuing a Doctorate of Music Arts in Choral Conducting. Prior to UNT, Ms. Le taught choir in Florida and Louisiana public schools for 9 years. Choirs under Ms. Le’s direction have performed at State, Regional, and National ACDA Conferences. While in Florida, Ms. Le’s choirs were recognized as FVA (Florida Vocal Association) Choirs of Distinction.

In March 2023, Ms. Le conducted the world premiere of Requiem for a Poisoned Earth, a choral-orchestral work by UNT student composer P.J. Mooney. In February 2023, Ms. Le was one of four graduate students selected to participate in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Conducting Masterclass. She has served as conductor for UNT Camerata and chorusmaster for UNT opera’s production of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Ms. Le’s current scholastic assignments at UNT include serving as an instructor for undergraduate conducting, Teaching Assistant for UNT Concert Choir, and Teaching Assistant for UNT A Cappella Choir. In Spring of 2024, Ms. Le served as adjunct faculty at Texas Woman’s University while completing her studies at UNT.

Matt Carlson is an engaging and energetic conductor, teacher, composer, and vocalist. He is pursuing a doctorate in choral conducting at the University of North Texas, where he conducts the UNT Chorale.

Matt is a graduate of Gettysburg College (B.S. Music Education) and Michigan State University (M.M. Choral Conducting). He was a public school choral conductor in Pennsylvania and led the acclaimed Gettysburg Children’s Choir & Children’s Chorale.

His musical compositions have been commissioned by school, community, and collegiate choirs, programmed for choral festivals across the nation, and are published by Santa Barbara, Walton, and Alfred.
