REGINA WALTERS CARTWRIGHT

Vocal Division

Regina Walter Cartwright is a distinguished soprano and seasoned voice and piano instructor based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. With over 30 years of teaching experience, Regina has nurtured students ranging from children to post-graduates, specializing in classical singing while also teaching musical theatre and contemporary vocal styles.

Regina's academic achievements include a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of North Texas, where she held a Voice Teaching Fellowship. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a voice concentration from Furman University, where she received a Voice Scholarship. Her professional operatic debut as Monica in Menotti’s The Medium marked the beginning of her performance career.

Notable operatic credits include her portrayals of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus. Regina has graced stages with the Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Connecticut Grand Opera and Orchestra, and the Italian National Opera, among others in Texas and Connecticut. In 2004, she made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Mass in C with the North Texas Festival Choir.

Regina has showcased her vocal artistry in numerous recitals and concert performances of iconic works such as Bach’s Magnificat, Beethoven’s Choral Symphony, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, Mozart’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Rutter’s Magnificat, and Vivaldi’s Gloria. She has also delighted audiences as a guest artist in performances across Europe.

Regina's accolades include being listed in the prestigious Who’s Who in America, as well as recognition as a Semi-Finalist in the Shreveport Opera Singer of the Year competition and the Connecticut Opera Guild Vocal Competition.

As an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and a former board member of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Regina is deeply committed to her students' growth and development. Her passion for music and dedication to fostering talent make her an esteemed music judge and educator.
